Kashi On Mahadev Ji's Trishul
Sat namo ādeś |
guruji ko ādeś om guruji !
om dharti so ākāś, mahā dhartrī mahā ākāś |
triśūla lāyā siddha nivāsa |
om pahali dhār anahad bānī, dūji dhār amṛta bāṇī tīsarī dhār alakha nirvānī | siddha sädhaka ne triśūla dhariyā
loha triśul jogi nirvāṇa |
āsana pavitra triśūl pavitra kahe machandar
sun bā goraśa triśūl sadā rākhiyo pās,
kal kanṭaka nahī āve pās |
triśūl cāle bhūt piśāca nikaṭ nahī āve | itanā triśūl mantra sampūrṇa bhaya | śrī nātha ji guru ji ko ādeś | ādeś |
Translation –
Adesh to the Holy Name!
Adesh to my Guru! Om Guru!
OM to the Earth (Prithvi) and SOM to the Space (Akasha), to the Great Earth (the essence of the all earths), to the Great Space (the essence of the all spaces)!
Trishula gives siddhis and dissolves existence. Om, the first spike symbolizes the unaccented sound of anahata,
the second spike symbolizes the immortality,
the third one is a symbol of uncomprehended and unexpressed, boundless state.
The trishula grants siddhas to a sadhak.
The iron of trishula is bliss for a yogin.
The holy asana and the holy trishula heard what Matsyendra said and what Goraksha heard,
the holder of trishula, who is piercing the time by a needle.
The trushula that is eliminated inferior spirits and ghosts.
Such is the true trushula-mantra.
Adesh, adesh to Great Nath, to Guruji !
Ades is the situation where the Atma, Parmatma and Jiva all three meet and become one. These lines are written by Advaita Shaivites.
According to this, The Trishul gives siddhis to
devotees and it is doing so right now.
It dissolves the existence (of ego, as ego goes, the existence as we know it dissolves) – it is doing that right now.
Brings bliss for the yogins – it is doing that right now.
in other places, Trishul is said to be symbol of the 3 main nadis we have – it is controlling them right now Of the 3 gunas we have – it is controlling them right now and allowing for balance
Trishul’s 3 parts are time – past, present and future – it is controlling them right now for each devotee.
Shiva is inside each one who is reading it, and those who are not reading it.
He helps each person control the temperament and personality and move forward on the path of spiritual development. Each person has His or Her own Shiva inside them………and inside each person is the Trishul which is helping the ones walking on the path of spiritual development – to walk towards Him and to reach Him some day.
So short answer of the where is the Trishul now? It is inside each one of us – because Shiva is inside each one of us.

What happened to His trident? Nothing happens to the trident – it is all powerful and inside you as your 3 Gunas, as your 3 nadis, as your three parts of the time. If you pray to Him, the Trishul guides you to the state which is described as Ades. we dont pray to it – nothing happens to it even then.
